Blessings and love to you on this Monday morning! I’m praying that your week is filled with joy and peace in Christ Jesus. Let’s dive right into today’s verses.
“2 And the Lord answered me:
“Write the vision;
make it plain on tablets,
so he may run who reads it
3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
it will surely come; it will not delay.”
I love these verses for so many reasons. The Lord is telling Habakkuk to write down his vision.. to make it clear.. so that whoever sees it can pick up and run with it..
I think this is helpful not only for those coming joining Habakkuk, but for Habakkuk himself.
Has the Lord ever given you a vision for your life? A revelation? A goal?
Have you ever started taking steps towards the vision, but then gotten tired in the waiting for it to come to fruition? I know I have. If Habakkuk gets tired waiting for the vision to come to fruition, he can look back at the vision written plainly and be reminded of God’s goodness and perfect love.
Verse 3 is good too because God tells him that the vision is awaiting an appointed time. It WILL happen, it just isn’t time yet. This is where I start to get weary.. this is where I start losing hope and start to give up on the vision.
God must have know that Habakkuk may struggle with the waiting and that we may struggle as well because he goes on to say “If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”
This reminds us that God’s got us.Even if the promises seem slow in the making, we can rest assured that they will be fulfilled in their due time. When it seems slow we can wait with peace and excitement knowing that it will SURELY come and it WILL NOT DELAY.
Today write down your vision… make it clear.. and then ask God to help you in the waiting.
