Hello there friend! I am so excited to announce that Monday we will be starting Reconciled, a six week study about how God reconciles us to himself! I am so glad you are joining me for this six week Bible Study! I can’t wait to dig into God’s word and to grow together with you as we learn about why God reconciles us, how he reconciles us and his purpose for reconciling us to himself. Today enjoy our introduction post and look forward to our start of this study Monday June 26!
The grace of the Lord is nothing short of extraordinary. His kindness is beautiful and his mercy unmerited. One of the ideas that baffles me when it comes to God, is the pursuit of sinful man. God’s not like us… he forgives, accepts and loves with no strings attached. This concept is so hard to understand with a human mind because we have been programmed by this world to love only those who love us and are kind to us. If someone lies to me and constantly puts me down, I’m not apt to tell them how much I love them… But my God doesn’t work that way. He loves me in spite of all the times I have rejected him and turned my back on him. Maybe this concept of love without strings baffles you too. I’m praying that as we take this six week journey together you would gain a deeper understanding of the love the Father has towards you.
The verses that have been rocking my world lately are 2 Corinthians 5:17-21.
2 Corinthians 5:17-21 (NIV)
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Such a beautiful concept… The definition of reconciled as defined in Merriam-Webster is “to restore to friendship or harmony.”
The God of the universe reconciled us to himself. Isn’t that just the sweetest thing? It gives me all the feels.. God restored our friendship to himself.. and He didn’t count our sins against us. Friend, won’t you join me as we take a journey to discover what this reconciliation is all about?
Hang on… it’s going to be a beautiful and glorious ride!
Join me on Monday June 26th for our first day of this fun and exciting study!
